On a side note, I would download the patch and save it to your computer rather than using the in-game update function as it doesn't save a copy so each time it goes wrong you'll end up having to download it again. Alright, maybe someone can help I have been successfully playing defiance for a while now but recently I am unable to download that stupid glyph patcher.
From my Steam app I hit play now on the defiance game and the glyph patcher automatically starts downloading. Also, this is not the first time I had to download it and back then it worked. So first question is; Why should i have to redownload the patcher if I had already downloaded it in the past and was successfully able to patch the game and ultimately play for hours on end causing havoc in the bay area?
From there the downloader progress bar, after a few minutes, reaches the end fully. However, after what seems like 15mins at full bar, it finally displays an error message with code: 18 HTTP 0. Second question; What does this even mean? I am not all tech savy so I end up googling this error code and no one has the same exact code.
I tried multiple suggestions including; deleting anything glyph related and reinstalling, validating steam files mulitple times throughout efforts, and so forth. The closest i got was about someone posting about the "HTTP 0" part. At the end of that post was a pretty good description posted by a nice fellow. Basically at the end of his post he said we were screwed until a new patcher update comes out.
Third question; Is this in fact true about having to wait untill a new patcher file comes out whenever the hell that may be untill I can get back into the action? This whole deal seems bs to me from having to keep download the same thing I already downloaded to this error crap.
So I guess for a fourth and final question would be; If there is something I could try other than waiting, would a kind soul help a fellow gamer out?
