I had the same problem where certain songs would play for a few seconds and then the player would skip to a new song. When this happens, all you need to do is grab the time slider and move it to a point after the skip spot, For example, if your song skips after 6 seconds of play, grab the slider and move it to one minute into play. Next time you play this song, it will play all the way through at least that was my experience.
The player seems to "remember" where you skipped out of a song at some point in its history and it always skips out at the same point. Moving the slider seems to erase that memory. Nov 3, PM. Five years later, and people are still having this problem. So, why can't it be fixed? Seems really mean to not recognize that some people are having this problem, even if it is the minority of people. Apr 9, PM. Apr 9, PM in response to octodanger In response to octodanger. Hope this will help you. Question: Q: Why does my iTunes only play the first few seconds of a song and then skip to the next one?

Hi, I have the exact same problem, but it's 6 seconds for me, the web player didn't work last week but after the most recent update that is now working so i'm using that as an alternative. What I have noticed is that I can reliably change the amount of time that I can play a song by adjusting the "streaming quality" setting from "automatic" 5 seconds to "very high" songs don't even play What is very strange is that if someone else logs into the desktop app on my computer the music plays fine regardless of settings, and if I log into my spotify on someone elses computer as my account it works correctly.
If I do manage to fix the problem on my own i'll post the fix back here, I hope you do too. Cheers, KnowingOwinga. Reply 6 Likes. Same 5 second play then "spotify can't play this right now. Hi Raya1, Unforuntaley i'm no longer in a position to continue troubleshooting this problem anymore as mine is now working and the fix i the posted seems to have worked for a large number of people, it's unfortunate that it doesn't for you in this case.
I hope you find a fix regardless. Not applicable. Fantastic, thanks so much! Run spotify app as administrator as a last resort if nothing above works. Run spotify as administrator it works fine.
